    Arrive Kuala Lumpur, meet our representatives, transfer to hotel.

  • A Morning city tour will take you to see: Masjid Jamek, the oldest surviving mosque in the city, located at the confluence of the Klang & Gombak rivers where the city’s first arrival settled in the mid-19th century; Independent Square or Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur’s colonial district, surrounded by the Tudor style royal Selangor Club, National History Museum, St Mary’s Cathedral and Sultan Abdul Samad Building, a flamboyant Moorish-style building dated from 1897; Kuala Lumpur Lake Garden and Orchid Garden where 1 hectare of exotic orchids are being nurtured. Return to hotel and rest. In the late afternoon, depart for Kuala Selangor and visit Butik Malawati, a hill that overlooks the town; the ruin of Fort Atlingsburg, and Selangor Nature Park.   • Travel to Banghuris and experience a truly living traditional lifestyle which is rapidly diminishing. Banghuris is a name representing three villages with a population of about 3,000. Visit a coffee plantation and a palm oil plantation (closed on Sundays). Enjoy a traditional Malay lunch at the home of the village folks.     Day 6: Kuala Lumpur-Cameron Highlands

    Visit Batu Caves where a natural limestone cave was converted into an elaborated Hindu Temple. Continue on to Cameron Highland, named after the British surveyor William Cameron who charted the area. Coffee and noodle stops will be made at Bidor. Experience an entertaining hands-on cooking class at the Strawberry Park Resort. (B/D)

  • Morning tour of the Cameron Highland area, once a popular retreat for the wealthy and British officials. Visit a tea plantation; enjoy morning tea at a butterfly park; observe the lifestyle of the locals, rose valley, and vegetable markets. Afternoon free at leisure. (B)

  • Depart Cameron Highlands for Penang. En route, visit Ipoh, once an affluent city because of tin mining. Currently, the state capital of Perak and the third largest city in Malaysia. Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, visit the Ubudiah Mosque, and the Iskandariah Palace before reaching Georgetown on the island of Penang. Georgetown was the base of the British East India Company and was named after the Prince of Wales. It has an authentic Strait Settlements aura, with well-preserved colonial architecture, traditional wooden shop-houses, and traditional diverse cuisines developed by its Indian, Malay, Peranakan, Chinese, Thai, and European communities.   • Morning tour of Georgetown, visiting Fort Cornwallis where the founder of the city, Sir Francis Light, first stepped ashore in 1786; Chew Jetty and the Weld Quay Clan Piers where low houses, shops, and shrines are built; Khoo Kong Si Temple, a Chinese temple found by wealthy Hokkien (Amoy) merchants of the Khoo Clan in 1835. Malaysia Borneo Tour

  • Day 1: U.S.-Kuching

    Depart U.S. for Kuching.

    Day 2: Kuching

    Arrive Kuching. Transfer to hotel.

  • A tour will introduce you to this historic capital of Sarawak, visiting Kuching’s Chinatown, the Cat Statue, the famous Sarawak Museum, and Central Market with spice dealers and textile shops. (B)

  • A coach journey will take you through the lush green countryside with rice fields, pepper gardens, and rubber plantations. Lunch at a local bazaar in Iban country. Onward to Lemanak jetty and take a longboat ride up the Lemanak River for the Serubah Longhouse. Enjoy a fresh jungle produce dinner, and join the locals for traditional dances and music. Overnight at the guest quarters of the longhouse. (B/L/D)

  • In the morning, see a blowpipe demonstration and learn to shoot one yourself; then take a short walk through the forest with Iban trackers and learn about the traditional use of rainforest plants in Iban culture.   • Visit the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center and observe the man’s ‘closest relative’. Take a cruise from Sandakan jetty through the Sulu Sea and the magnificent Mangrove Forest for the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary. Lunch at Abai Jungle Restaurant. After lunch, cruise upriver to Sukau village and observe the Endemic Proboscis Monkeys, birds, and other wildlife. (B/L/D)

  • A scenic coach ride will take you to Lahad Datu where you’re required to register with the park office before visiting Danum Valley and Borneo Rainforest Lodge located on the edge of a 438 sq. kilometer of undisturbed rainforest. The lowland rainforest is home to many of Sabah’s lowland fauna, including the rare Sumatran Rhinoceros, Elephants, Clouded Leopards, Orang Utans, and about 275 species of birds. In the evening, a slide show will serve as an introduction to the area. You can go and spotlight to observe some nocturnal animals if the weather permits. (B/L/D)

  • Day 8: Danum Valley

    In the morning, explore the forest for birds and mammals, visit an ancient burial site, trek to a waterfall, and take a dip in the refreshing rock pools. Afternoon free at leisure for you to explore the surrounding area at your own pace. (B/L/D)

    Day 9: Danum Valley-Kota Kinabalu

    Transfer to Lahad Datu Airport for domestic flight to Kota Kinabalu. Rest of the day is free for you to explore this capital city of Sabah. (B/L)
